CIG, a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, is committed to maintaining its record of safety during construction and operation of CIG’s Raton 2010 Expansion Project. The Raton 2010 Expansion Project will meet or exceed all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory safety and environmental requirements. It will include state-of-the-art safety features, such as remote emergency shutdown capabilities, over-pressure protection systems, and gas-leak detection programs. In addition, the pipeline facilities will be included in the company’s ongoing Pipeline Integrity Program, which periodically inspects the internal condition of the pipe to determine if there are any potential integrity problems and addresses them as appropriate.
