Project Facilities

The proposed Raton 2010 Expansion Project will be constructed in Las Animas, Huerfano, Pueblo, and El Paso Counties, Colorado. The majority of the project involves pipeline and facilities.

The pipeline facilities will be constructed in two segments as follows:

  • The first pipeline segment, referred to as the Spanish Peaks Lateral, would extend 27 miles north from CIG’s existing Line No. 222A located in Las Animas County to an intersection with CIG’s existing Line No. 27A near the Town of Aguilar located in
    Las Animas County.
  • The second pipeline segment, referred to as the Aguilar Lateral, would extend approximately 60 miles northeasterly from the Town of Aguilar and continue approximately 30 miles north, paralleling CIG’s existing Line No. 9A, to an interconnect with CIG’s existing Line No. 212A in El Paso County.

Finally, CIG will also install a new meter station and will modify an existing meter station as part of the project.

As currently proposed, the Raton 2010 Expansion Project would traverse the four counties in Colorado as follows:

  • Las Animas County 36.7 miles
  • Huerfano County 22.6 miles
  • Pueblo County 49.5 miles
  • El Paso County 7.9 miles
