Key Data
El Paso Exploration & Production Company is one of the 10 largest independent natural gas producers in the United States and owns a substantial leasehold acreage in the U.S. We also have a presence internationally in Brazil and Egypt.
Our assets are divided among three major areas: Onshore; which includes our Western U.S., Central U.S. divisions, and Texas Gulf Coast assets; Gulf of Mexico/S. Louisiana; and International, which consists of operations in Brazil and Egypt.
In 2008 our daily equivalent natural gas production averaged approximately 813 MMcfe/d*. Most of our onshore reserves and production are from long-lived, unconventional or low-risk conventional resources. In 2009 we will reduce our exposure to higher-risk conventional assets in Texas Gulf Coast and the Gulf of Mexico. Our International Division will become an increasingly important part of our future production and reserve growth with recent the discoveries in Brazil and significant progress in Egypt.
*not including 70 MMcfe/d from our equity investment in Four Star
