Commitment to the Environment
El Paso is committed to conducting business in a manner that protects the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, contractors, and the public. As an industry leader, we recognize our responsibility to be an active, constructive participant in discussions about standards for protecting the environment.
We are committed to speaking clearly about where we stand on these issues.
Leadership and Oversight
El Paso has developed a comprehensive structure for the strategic oversight of the organization’s environmental, health, and safety performance, practices, and policies. This area of responsibility includes climate change.
Our Board of Directors Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Committee consists of four independent members of our Board who review and
provide oversight of the El Paso’s environmental policies, standards,
accountabilities, and programs including the company’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory and reduction program. The HSE Committee advises the Board of Directors and makes recommendations for the Board’s consideration on issues related to the environment, including GHG issues. Visit our Investor Relations page on our Web site for more information about El Paso’s Board HSE committee, including its charter and a list of its members.
In addition to the Board HSE committee, El Paso has an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) executive team that provides oversight of climate related issues. This team is made up of seven members of El Paso’s senior management, including Chairman, President, and CEO Doug Foshee.
